Woodland Desi Grocery & Halal Meat is a hidden gem in Conroe! It's super convenient, located right off Highway 242 across from Costco, and offers a great selection of halal meat, frozen foods, and desi groceries. I bought the frozen Al-Safa Angus Steak Burger Patties here, and not only was the quality amazing, but the price was also very reasonable--definitely better than what I've found at other stores. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. They even offered me a space to pray, which I really appreciated. It's not every day you find a store that goes above and beyond for their customers like this. Whether you're stocking up on halal essentials or looking for hard-to-find South Asian items, this is the place to go. I'll definitely be back to shop again soon, in sha Allah!
We moved here to The Woodlands from Naperville, IL in 1998, and, since then, we have been in search of good indian food close by. SITAR was the first restaurant that opened here, and thereafter, many others followed. Around 12 - 14 years ago, we found this grocery store by luck, and we were simply stunned. The best indian food we ever had. Since then, we have been a regular here. Some of our favorite dishes include: goat/mutton dishes, fish dishes, and goat/mutton biryani. The very best that you can get in this area, even better than some of the top indian restaurants downtown Houston.
I have not tried the restaurant portion (it's a ghost kitchen of sorts - no seating, only to go). The clerk shared that the menu varies by day and if possible, they can accommodate and cook the dishes that a customer wants. In regards to the grocery store, it's one of the few on 242 area - selection is wide and has all the typical staples of an Indian grocery store. Prices are reasonable for groceries.
This is a clean, reliable halal meat and grocery store serving essentially the entire northern edge of the Houston Metroplex. They have some odd hours and inventory so I would always recommend calling ahead for whatever you're going for, especially if it's the cafe, but they are very polite and clear on what they have and can do. If this is your closest halal grocery, enjoy!

This place has everything you need, from Turkish delights to delicious spiced lamb. I love the prices and variety!!
This is a good place to pick your Asian ingredients and spices. They have a good variety of snacks, frozen foods and small take out place where you can order items like Biriyani, seekh kebabs, nihari, etc. Their food is good but on the spicy side. They aldo have a meat market where you can buy goat, chicken, beef cut to order. They also have frozen fish like rohu and hilsa that you wont find anywhere else in this area.
Went in search of a couple of ingredients for a new dish I want to try. Everyone was so helpful in helping me find everything I needed!! Prices were great and the store was clean.
